1960s Teak Drawers by Durable Suites
Description
This sculptural mid-century chest of drawers was made by Durable Suites Ltd, a lesser-known but highly collectible British maker active during the 1960s and 70s. It features a rich teak veneer body, a solid teak top drawer front, and a gracefully curved solid afrormosia sled base.
The layout includes two slim drawers with finger pulls and three full-width drawers with recessed circular handles, and a further deep drawer at the bottom. Its clean, modernist design is complemented by warm timber tones and elegant proportions.
The piece has undergone a light restoration and careful refinish to preserve its character. It presents beautifully overall, with minor age-related marks consistent with its vintage nature.
