Viking Chair by Jim Myrstad for Brunstad

Description

A rare example of the “Viking” lounge chair designed by Jim Myrstad for Brunstad, Norway, circa 1970s. This striking piece of Scandinavian modern design features a sculptural bentwood frame and original red leather button-tufted cushion, a rare colour-way produced in much smaller numbers than the more common black or brown.

The chair retains its original sling base and cushion, with age related patina to the leather. There is minor wear and a discreet repair to the seat, which as you can see from the photos is barely visible and does not compromise its integrity or comfort. Staining to the reverse of the cushion and canvas sling is not visible in use.

This is a standout mid-century piece that combines elegance, comfort, and collectability.
