Art Glass Bowl by Josef Hospodka for Chribská

Description

A beautifully sculptural art glass bowl designed by Josef Hospodka for Chribská Glassworks, Czechoslovakia, circa 1970s. This hand-blown piece showcases Hospodka’s signature flowing form, with elegant lobes and a radiant starburst base.

Produced using the sommerso technique, the glass features a rich deep purple upper layer transitioning into luminous aqua blue. The colour combination is one of the most striking used by Chribská during this period, creating strong visual depth and crisp light refraction. Heavy, tactile, and highly decorative, it sits beautifully on a teak or walnut surface.

Excellent vintage condition. Light age-related wear to the base (shown). No chips or cracks.
