Kai Kristiansen Rosewood Nest of Tables for Vildbjerg Møbelfabrik, 1960s

A beautifully crafted set of three Danish rosewood nesting tables designed by Kai Kristiansen for Vildbjerg Møbelfabrik, dating from the 1960s.

Each table features a richly figured rosewood top set within a slender solid rosewood frame, with softly rounded corners and clean, architectural lines. The three tables slide neatly beneath one another to form a compact, sculptural arrangement when not in use.

The dramatic rosewood grain varies naturally across the set, with deep reddish-brown tones and darker figuring. Their restrained proportions and refined joinery are characteristic of Kristiansen’s functional approach to Danish modern design.

The underside retains the original manufacturer’s stamp:

Vildbjerg Møbelfabrik A/S – Vildbjerg – Made in Denmark

The tables have been carefully cleaned and polished but otherwise remain in excellent original condition, retaining their original finish. There are only very light surface marks consistent with age and use.

A particularly attractive and well-preserved example of mid-century Danish design.
