Italian Desk Lamp by Prova
Description
An Italian modernist desk lamp, designed and manufactured by Prova in Italy and sold in the UK by BHS during the 1970s. This piece reflects the clean, functional aesthetic of Italian lighting from the era, featuring a brushed aluminium shade, white enamel finish, and chrome stem that come together in a striking, sculptural silhouette.
The lamp has been completely stripped down and thoroughly cleaned, with its original wiring and inline switch carefully checked, cleaned, and reinstated. It retains its original BHS label on the underside of the base, confirming its provenance. As expected with a vintage piece, there are minor signs of age, including light surface marks and a gentle patina, which add to its character without detracting from its overall appearance.
A fully adjustable shade makes it practical for desk or reading use, and its refined form makes it equally suited as a statement piece.
