This original West German ceramic vase was produced by Bay Keramik in the late 1960s to early 1970s and features one of the maker’s most recognisable finishes. The bold red glaze is framed by a textured black “fat lava” band, creating strong contrast and depth that works beautifully in both minimalist and mid-century interiors.
The vase is model 630/20, standing 20cm tall, with the correct factory markings to the base. The glaze is rich and even, no chips, cracks or repairs.
A classic piece of post-war European design, ideal as a standalone sculptural object or styled with dried stems or foliage. Timeless, tactile and unmistakably mid-century.
